No one in the world told stories before WWII.
“How was your day?”, people would ask. Their questions went unanswered, for what would they say?
History. Religion. Literature. None of this existed, because there were no stories to be told.
Finally, following the deaths of millions and millions of people, Winston Churchill famously said, “What if we, like, wrote this down or whatever?”
And that’s why we never (ever ever ever not even once) told stories before the Nazis came along. And we definitely didn’t create classic literature or theatre that continues to be loved to this very day.
And it wasn’t like if the Shoah hadn’t happened there wouldn’t have been a dearth of antisemitic incidents in history….
How about the stories the entire fucking religion of Judaism is based on? Or the many pogroms through tan entire 1000 years in Europe? - what? Nothing to tell the kids at bedtime?
